The form of Leonardo Bonucci will influence the positioning of Giorgio Chiellini at Juventus, says Claudio Gentile.
Chiellini is a centre-back by trade, but he was used on the left against Milan after boss Antonio Conte brought Bonucci back into the team alongside Andrea Barzagli.
"Chiellini being used as a left-back will depend on the performances of Bonucci," the former Bianconeri defender told Radio Mana Mana.
"It's a very effective variable for Juve though when needed," continued the 1982 World Cup winner.
"Chiellini has power and strength, he can play anywhere in defence. However, I repeat, it will be Bonucci's displays which will determine where Chiellini is used in the future."
As well as praising Chiellini, the former Italian Under-21 Coach also hailed the fine form of Claudio Marchisio.
"He has enormous qualities," added Gentile. "It's a good job that he didn't join Roma during the summer…
"He strikes up an excellent partnership with Andrea Pirlo in central midfield."
Gentile concluded by adding that this new Juventus side reminds him of Luciano Spalletti's flamboyant Roma team.
