Rodrigo Palacio insists that Genoa deserve the credit for his return to the Argentine international set-up.
The forward has been included in the party for the October ties against Chile and Venezuela – his first call-up since June 2008.
"I'm very happy to be back with the Argentina squad," the former Boca Juniors wide attacker noted.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Genoa. It is because of my journey with them that I am here again."
Palacio remained with the Marassi outfit over the summer after the club rejected a €10m offer from Inter for his services.
Palacio has made a wonderful start to the campaign as he is currently the Serie A top scorer thanks to his five goals.
