Claudio Marchisio's sprained ankle is not serious and he could possibly recover in time for Northern Ireland.
The midfielder scored in Belgrade last night and limped off with a sprained left ankle during the 1-1 draw with Serbia.
“In clinical terms Marchisio is much better,” explained Professor Enrico Castellacci.
“He had a small sprain to the ankle and felt pain, but is alright now. I hope the lad can be available for Tuesday's game in Pescara.
“He will work in the gym today, then from tomorrow will be in full training, then we'll see.”
Federico Balzaretti missed the Serbia match due to a back problem.
“He is recovering fairly well, as he ran and changed direction in today's session, so he has improved a great deal. We are monitoring his progress day by day.”
