Napoli 'keeper Morgan De Sanctis will reportedly make a substitute appearance for Italy against Northern Ireland this evening.
Juventus custodian Gigi Buffon is expected to start the game, but boss Cesare Prandelli would like to give De Sanctis some action.
De Sanctis is from the Abruzzo region of Italy and actually started his career at Pescara, the venue for tonight's final Euro 2012 qualifier.
The 34-year-old De Sanctis has returned to the Azzurri set-up after Emiliano Viviano damaged knee ligaments in pre-season training for Inter.
The 'keeper has only won three caps for Italy in his career and hasn't featured since a 1-1 draw in Greece back in November 2008.
