Cesena have an injury crisis and are propping up the table, but Marco Giampaolo insists they are “ready for Fiorentina.”
The 11.30 UK time kick-off at the Stadio Manuzzi has the Sea Horses looking for their first win of the campaign.
However, Erjon Bogdani was a late addition to the injury list along with Jorge Martinez, Gianluca Comotto, Giuseppe Colucci and Martinho.
“We have some injuries, but the team is ready for Fiorentina and worked with different physical and tactical approaches during the break for international duty,” assured Giampaolo.
“I expect the team to approach this game with the right intensity and without fear. We respect our opponents, but do not fear them.
“Martinez and Bogdani had some muscular problems, so they are unavailable, though Ceccarelli has recovered. Despite the absentees, I think my team has the right mentality.
“Fiorentina are a quality side with many technical players like Alessio Cerci, Stevan Jovetic and Riccardo Montolivo.”
Cesena are propping up the table with one point from five games and Giampaolo's job is hanging by a thread.
“I see a team that wants to get back on track and escape this situation. We want to react to difficulties as quickly as possible. We miss the win, that's obvious, but once we break that duck then we'll have the right push to climb the table.
“We need it and I believe the squad, the club and the fans deserve it.”
