Genoa have defended under pressure boss Alberto Malesani amidst talk that he could soon be axed.
The tactician only arrived at the port club in the summer from Bologna, but his Rossoblu have struggled to impress so far.
Their mixed performances have even led to speculation that Genoa chief Enrico Preziosi is considering a change of Coach.
"Malesani is not to be touched," Preziosi told the Corriere Mercantile. "I want that to be made very clear to everyone.
"The club strongly believe in his work and we are convinced that he can stay here for some time to come.
"We are even ready to prolong his contract."
Genoa sit in mid-table on eight points thanks to two wins, two draws and two losses. They drew 0-0 with Lecce on Sunday.
"It's only normal that I am not satisfied with how things are going, but the other teams in the Division are not doing great things either," the toy tycoon added.
"Malesani is working hard and he needs more time. The side is all new and the players need to create a united squad.
"The Coach has a lot of aspects of the team to change and he needs to find a balance, but I'm convinced that we are on the right path."
Genoa travel to League leaders Juventus at the weekend.
