Napoli goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis reveals how he saved Mario Gomez's penalty for Bayern Munich.
“I watched his recent tapes and last Sunday he kicked to the left, while this time I threw myself to the right,” revealed the shot-stopper.
The Germans had taken the lead in the opening 90 seconds at the San Paolo, but were pegged back 1-1.
“Bayern really are a frightening proposition, as the reality of facing them surpassed what we had imagined. We knew that we were facing currently one of the strongest sides in Europe.
“The Bavarians are very strong, but we did well and made up for that bad start. After the equaliser, we made it a balanced encounter and were very organised.”
The ‘Group of Death' is very tight, as Bayern Munich have seven points, Napoli five and thanks to a last-gasp victory this evening Manchester City are on four.
“It is a hard-fought group and our objective is to keep our chances of qualification alive until the final day of this phase.”
