Parma President Tommaso Ghiardi has given the latest indication that he would be interested in signing Antonio Cassano by saying "everyone likes him."
Cassano's time at Sampdoria appears to be over after a colossal falling out with Riccardo Garrone, who has asked that his contract be rescinded.
It remains to be seen whether Cassano becomes a free agent in time for the January transfer window, but in the meantime those parties who are interested in offering him a new challenge are keeping a low profile.
"Cassano is a great player who everybody likes," Ghirardi said.
"This situation has been created at Samp, but I respect Garrone and I expect that everything will be clarified. Then we'll see.
"At Parma we have several special players. Right now we are happy with what we've got.
"We have a professional group of players with an example for everyone in Hernan Crespo."
