Alberto Gilardino is in contention to start for Fiorentina when they take on Juventus in Turin on Tuesday evening.
The Italian returned to action at the weekend as a substitute following a four-week spell on the treatment table.
Early indications ahead of the midweek round suggest that Gilardino will be named in Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic's starting XI.
Fiorentina could certainly do with the former Parma and Milan player's goals as they have scored just eight in seven games so far this term.
The Viola, who drew 2-2 with Catania this weekend, haven't won for four games now. Saying that, Juventus have only collected one win and four draws from the last five matches.
The Bianconeri did try to sign Gilardino in January, but they eventually netted Alessandro Matri from Cagliari instead.
