Udinese's Samir Handanovic is currently the best goalkeeper in Serie A, says one former Italian No 1.
The Slovenian has impressed in the Italian top flight this term and, according to Gianluca Pagliuca, he's right up there with Morgan De Sanctis of Napoli and Juventus' Gigi Buffon.
"I would probably just pick Handanovic over De Sanctis right now," Pagliuca, formerly of Sampdoria and Inter, told Radio CRC.
"However, that's only because he saves a few more penalties…
"We are still talking about two of the very best goalkeepers in Italy and Europe.
"They are the best that you can get in this country right now, also because Buffon is yet to start expressing himself at his true levels again after the injuries he's suffered."
Buffon, currently sidelined for another week with a collarbone issue, missed six months of the last campaign after damaging his back at World Cup 2010.
