Alberto Malesani admits Genoa didn't deserve to win, as Luis Enrique insists: “I am happy. This is my Roma.”
The Giallorossi dominated at Marassi, but wasted so many scoring opportunities and were eventually beaten 2-1 in the final minute.
“In my view the right result should've been our victory,” said Enrique. “I am happy with the performance, as we played well.
“Tonight the team played the way I want it to and I have to praise the lads. We've got to improve on many aspects, but this is my Roma.”
Genoa boss Malesani also confessed the win was a very lucky one, especially as Juraj Kucka's decisive goal came off his knee.
“We didn't have much time to prepare for this match and something didn't work in our tactics,” said the Coach.
“We struggled a great deal in the first half, while there was an improvement after the break. I liked the character shown by my team, because that made the difference in this game.
“I want to compliment Roma, because if they are given time, then they can achieve great things.”
