Stefano Colantuono has praised his players in light of their latest impressive performance, as they held Inter to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday night.
Without the club's -6 points penalty incurred over the summer, the team would still be joint second in the standings after the draw with Claudio Ranieri's men.
"We are very happy. Up until the last it was a very important performance and that has been against a very strong team who were dangerous every time they approached our area.
"There was intensity, organisation and we carried out what we had prepared. My players interpreted the game very well. We played in their faces with an excellent performance.
"We wanted to engage them on the wings, mainly to try to limit [Douglas] Maicon and we did that very well in the second half."
Colantuono also gave his opinion on the last-minute penalty decision.
"The contact is there, then it is down to the referee to decide if he gives it or not, but I do not think it is an outrageous penalty."
