Franco Colomba tells Parma they “must not drop their heads” after two consecutive defeats and a training ground brawl.
It was widely reported tension spilled over in training this week when teammates Rafael Marques and Obiora Nwankwo physically clashed after a foul.
The club had initially been ready to put the whole squad in a pre-match ritiro training camp, but eventually opted not to take that step ahead of Sunday's relegation battle with Cesena.
“This has been a very strange week, as we flew from euphoria to anxiety,” said Coach Colomba.
The Ducali won away to Napoli, but then fell to two consecutive defeats against Atalanta and Milan.
“Naturally, there has to be a middle ground. We've got to learn from our mistakes and look ahead with optimism. The squad just wants to get back on its feet and turn this situation around.
“There are weeks when everything looks black and the days taking us towards Cesena fit that bill. I respect Cesena, just as I respect Parma. Every game is a test and the team must not drop their heads.”
