Alberto Malesani has several ex-Fiorentina stars in his Genoa squad, but reveals Andrea Caracciolo is out of the match.
Hitman Caracciolo came down with a stomach bug last night and has been left out of the side travelling to the Stadio Franchi, though it's a special occasion for former Viola stars Sebastien Frey and Dario Dainelli.
“It is going to be a strange atmosphere in Florence,” said the Coach. “Frey will be reunited with a very passionate crowd who probably did not accept his departure. It's always a special game for Dainelli against his Fiorentina.
“We have to start from our hunger to get the result. Fiorentina are determined and have a Coach, Sinisa Mihajlovic, who has been unlucky, so I doubt he is gambling with his job against us.”
Also absent are the suspended Kakha Kaladze and sidelined Ze Eduardo.
