Aurelio De Laurentiis still gives Napoli “10 out of 10” despite their defeat and “we'll have our heads held high” in Munich.
The Partenopei fell off the Scudetto pace after falling 2-1 in Catania on Saturday, having played the entire second half with 10 men due to Mario Alberto Santana's dismissal.
“I think Santana did what he could in a position that was not his own, as the midfield felt Walter Gargano's absence,” said the President.
“Even with a man down, the team played well against Catania. My lads and Walter Mazzarri deserved 10 out of 10.”
Napoli must now prepare for their tricky Champions League trip to Bayern Munich, who were held 1-1 at the San Paolo.
“Bayern are extremely strong and we will be missing a few players, but we'll go there with our heads held high,” assured De Laurentiis.
“It will also be a nice opportunity to look at the Allianz Arena.”
The President has said the German and English stadiums are an inspiration for revamping the San Paolo.
