Francesco Guidolin concedes Antonio Di Natale “is crucial” for Udinese after he returned to score the winner against Palermo.
The striker was sorely missed along with Mauricio Isla during the midweek 2-0 defeat at Napoli, their first and so far only Serie A loss of the campaign.
“Toto' is crucial for us, because he is the one who breaks down defences with his skill and pace, but many of our players had the chance to score today,” said the Coach.
“Palermo played well and showed good character, but we created more opportunities and had numerous chances to double our advantage.”
The Friulani are still in second place, having been alone on top of the table last weekend.
“We take things day by day and will try to stay as high up the standings as possible. I don't believe in the Scudetto, especially now that Juventus and Milan have put themselves back on track.
“Sooner or later, we too will run out of energy due to our busy schedule. For now we have been able to keep the concentration levels high in Italy and Europe.”
Guidolin also had praise for Slovenian international goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.
“In my view he is the best goalkeeper in Europe and he is mature enough to aspire to a top club.”
