Aurelio De Laurentiis trusts his Napoli will show “great character” at the Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich tonight.
The President is in Germany for the Champions League clash, which kicks off at 19.45 UK time, along with around 8,000 Napoli supporters – many of them residents in the country.
“It's a wonderful stadium that is functional, without frills. You can see the whole German mentality within the Allianz Arena,” said De Laurentiis.
“Playing football here and cheering on your team is a pleasure. It is fantastic for us to be here against one of the strongest teams in the world. At the moment Bayern might have something more than the others.”
Napoli have struggled in Serie A recently, but are in second place in Champions League Group A and the only side so far to have taken points off Bayern.
“It is going to be a great game and I am not remotely worried,” continued De Laurentiis.
“We are just at the start of the season and there's all the time we need to recover in Serie A. As for the criticism, you'll see this team has great character. I think the naysayers will help fire up the squad.”
