Lazio and Italy midfielder Stefano Mauri will undergo surgery in Germany to correct a torn thigh muscle.
The player has been suffering from muscular problems all the way through the season and had a setback two weeks ago.
“The medical staff confirm that on Friday November 4 Stefano Mauri will undergo an operation for the effects of a torn left thigh muscle,” read a statement.
“The operation will be performed by Doctor Stefan Hinterwimmer at the Klinikum Rechts der Isar in Munich, aided by club doctor Stefano Salvatori.”
