Sampdoria's dispute with Antonio Cassano will be resolved on Monday when a verdict is now expected after efforts to reconcile the two parties failed this morning.
Sampdoria have asked that Cassano's contract be rescinded after he had a huge falling out with Riccardo Garrone, the club President, in October.
Four witnesses were heard at this morning's hearing at the court of arbitration, but despite pleas to agree to some kind of a settlement, the two parties remain distant.
"Reconciliation didn't succeed, we need an arbiter's decision," said Paolo Giuggioli, the lawyer who presided over today's hearing.
"The witnesses were heard and there will be a new hearing on Monday at 3:00pm at the end of which a verdict will be delivered," he concluded.
