Cagliari have officially sacked Coach Massimo Ficcadenti this evening, meaning they will bring in a third tactician for this season.
President Massimo Cellino had denied reports he was angry at recent results, most notably the defeat to Atalanta on Sunday, but wielded the axe late this evening.
“Massimo Ficcadenti is no longer the Cagliari Coach. The decision was made today,” read a statement on the club website.
“Along with the Coach, his collaborators Conca, Fulgoni and Toffolutti also leave the Rossoblu.
“Cagliari Calcio thank Massimo Ficcadenti and his staff for the work done up until now with effort and professionalism.”
Ficcadenti was only drafted in during August, a few weeks before the campaign kicked off, when Roberto Donadoni was sacked.
Now the favourite to take over is former Genoa and Palermo boss Davide Ballardini.
