Alessandro Matri and Daniel Pablo Osvaldo both scored hat-tricks in a practice match during Italy training on Wednesday.
Azzurri boss Cesare Prandelli is looking for a new striking partnership after losing Antonio Cassano and Giuseppe Rossi for the next six months.
Cassano of Milan is recovering from minor heart surgery, while the Villarreal ace went under the knife to resolve knee ligament damage.
It is believed that former Fiorentina Coach Prandelli would start with a Giampaolo Pazzini-Mario Balotelli strike-force in Friday’s friendly against Poland.
However, Matri and Osvaldo proved to be in fine form at Coverciano earlier today after the Juventus and Roma strikers netted a treble apiece.
Matri has been brought back into the set-up by the tactician, while Osvaldo won his first Azzurri cap last month in the 3-0 win over Northern Ireland.
The 10-a-side match took place without Andrea Ranocchia of Inter and Juventus’ Andrea Barzagli because of their physical problems.
The Azzurri will fly out to Poland on Thursday afternoon.
