Claudio Ranieri feels Inter “are growing” after a 2-1 friendly victory over Chiasso, though Dejan Stankovic picked up an injury.
“Today I gave an opportunity to those who haven’t played as much this season, so I certainly won’t mention Javier Zanetti,” joked the Coach.
“We worked very hard and I am satisfied, as we are growing. From Monday we’ll resume a typical working week, even if we’ll only have the internationals back on Wednesday and Thursday.
“Stankovic went off today and we’ll see what the situation is.”
Inter beat the Swiss second division side 2-1 at the Appiano Gentile training ground today.
Chiasso hit the crossbar in the opening minutes with Gaspar’s header, though Diego Milito broke the deadlock from a tight angle on Mauro Zarate’s through ball.
Gaspar struck the frame of the goal again and once more moments later the Nerazzurri scored, as Jonathan skipped past a defender to set up Luc Castaignos’ angled drive.
Chiasso did finally get a goal late on when a corner ricocheted in off an Inter body.
Inter: Castellazzi (Orlandoni 46); Jonathan, Cordoba, Samuel (Galimberti 46), Chivu (Falasca 46); Zanetti, Stankovic, Poli (Pasa 46); Zarate (Colombi 53); Castaignos, Milito
