Sampdoria have confirmed that they have two options to replace Gianluca Atzori – Roberto Donadoni and Beppe Iachini.
The Serie B club axed boss Atzori on Sunday and are expected to name his replacement within the next 36 hours.
Donadoni and Iachini have been touted as possible replacements and Samp sporting director Pasquale Sensibile has confirmed they are the two prime contenders.
“I don’t think we need to name any other people apart from these two,” Sensibile noted on Monday morning.
“At the moment I am hearing a lot of things. I wouldn’t want any of the two Coaches to feel as if they are second choices.
“We are waiting for them to give us a definite answer and then we will make our decision based on that.”
Former Italy boss Donadoni has been out of a job for three months after he was sacked by Cagliari in pre-season.
Meanwhile, Iachini hasn’t worked since he was shown the door by relegated Brescia at the end of the last campaign.
