Udinese’s search for a new midfielder in January is seeing them paired with Angelo Palombo and Michele Pazienza.
The high-flying Stadio Friuli outfit are expected to lose Emmanuel Badu and Kwadwo Asamoah for a time to the African Cup of Nations in the New Year.
Boss Francesco Guidolin is keen to cover their absence which has led to links with the Sampdoria captain and the Juventus squad player.
Samp admitted recently that they could consider selling Palombo after Christmas following his recent difficulties at Marassi.
Nevertheless, netting Palombo would be problematic for Udinese. Napoli and Fiorentina are also keen on the player, while his €3.2m before tax salary is too steep for the Bianconeri.
Pazienza, meanwhile, joined Juve from Napoli on a Bosman over the summer. He’s appeared in just four games for the club so far, totally 42 minutes in Serie A.
