Nicolas Burdisso has reassured Roma fans and teammates after snapping knee ligaments. “I am OK.”
The defender suffered the horrendous injury while on international duty in Argentina’s game with Colombia and will be out for around six months.
He is on his way back to Italy after several days in the hospital and has been fitted with a steel support for his knee.
“I am OK,” he told journalists at the airport in Colombia.
Argentina chief medic Daniel Martinez revealed more on the current situation.
“At this moment Burdisso is travelling because he is able to do so.”
He will undergo further tests in Rome before surgery to reconstruct the cruciate ligament.
