The President of the FIGC Giancarlo Abete hopes Italy gets Antonio Cassano back as soon as possible.
A verdict is expected today, which will seek to resolve the 28-year-old's situation at Sampdoria.
Cassano has been frozen out of the first team at Samp ever since he had a falling out with the ownership.
Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone has asked that his contract be rescinded, citing the player's insubordination as grounds to sever his existing deal.
"Cassano is a significant point of reference for Italy and it's important that we get him back," Abete told the World Football Show.
"Anyway, the FIGC respects the situation. The arbitration panel's decision will clarify the scenario.
"We hope that Cassano soon gets back the dimension of playing football again. We confidently await the situation's clarification," he concluded.
