Parma fell to a shock 2-0 home defeat against Verona, while Novara conquered Catania 3-2 in the Coppa Italia.
The Fourth Round continued with two games this evening and both brought up big shocks.
Serie A stalwarts Parma were stunned at the Stadio Tardini by Serie B outfit Hellas Verona, as Ferrari and Juanito Gomez got the goals.
It means Verona go on to play Lazio in the next round.
Catania had taken the lead against Novara in an all-Serie A clash after just three minutes, but Novara performed a spectacular fightback to win 3-2 in Sicily with Riccardo Meggiorini’s last-gasp strike.
The tension spilled out in stoppages with Giuseppe Bellusci and Filippo Porcari sent off for a scuffle. Novara go on to face Milan.
