Francesco Guidolin is afraid Inter are on their way back up. “It’s the most difficult game for Udinese.”
The Friulani are in joint second place with Milan, just two points shy of leaders Juventus, whereas the Nerazzurri are still sixth from bottom with a game in hand.
“It is certainly the most difficult game Udinese could’ve had at this time. Inter are always Inter,” warned Guidolin.
“They are getting themselves back on track and have so many champions in the squad. It’s going to be tough.”
Udinese are irritated at the fixture list, as they only played in the Europa League away to Rennes on Wednesday.
“I don’t know why we are playing on Saturday and not Sunday, seeing as Inter don’t play in the Champions League until next Wednesday. It penalises us and I really hoped we could get an extra day of rest this time, but there’s no point complaining now.
“Inter have many tactical and technical options, so they often change during the course of the match.
“We need the perfect performance without making mistakes,” continued the Coach.
“We’ve got to have the right enterprising approach and try to turn incidents our way. Those are the moments that decide games.
“Of course we all know Claudio Ranieri is an excellent Coach and a very wise man. He is working hard to get Inter back on track. We’ve got to be very concentrated, facing a side capable of scoring at any moment.”
Udinese do have some problems this season, as they haven’t scored on their travels since the last trip to San Siro against Milan.
“We know that we need to do better away from home, be more clinical and take advantage of the opportunities we create. I accept and take into consideration that criticism, using it to help improve the squad.
“Antonio Di Natale is a world class player and I hope he can be sharp tomorrow. As for Gabriel Torje, of course he isn’t burned out already. He just needs to relax and give his best when called upon. We won’t put any further pressure on his shoulders, as he needs time and patience.”
Udinese squad: Handanovic, Padelli, Romo; Armero, Basta, Benatia, Ekstrand, Ferronetti, Larangeira, Pasquale, Pereyra, Piccoli; Asamoah, Badu, Doubai, Isla, Pinzi, Sissoko; Di Natale, Fabbrini, Floro Flores, Torje
