Napoli have emerged as a contender to sign Marco Borriello from Roma during the January transfer window.
Some reports in the peninsula are suggesting that the Azzurri are hoping to net the player on a six-month loan.
Borriello is looking for a new club after failing to break into the first team plans of new boss Luis Enrique.
However, it remains to be seen whether the former Milan man would consider a San Paolo switch given that he wouldn’t be guaranteed a starting shirt.
Should Borriello be made available for transfer then former club Genoa, who are looking for a new centre-forward, will also be an option for him.
