Inter, Milan and Napoli will discover the identity of their last 16 opponents when the Champions League draw is made on Friday.
Having won their group, Inter will face one of the teams who finished runners-up in their sections. Milan and Napoli will take on a group winner.
At this stage, teams can’t face a side who they already played in the group stage and they can’t be paired with teams from the same country.
The Nerazzurri could therefore be drawn with Basel, Lyon, Bayer Leverkusen, Marseille or Luciano Spalletti’s Zenit St Petersburg.
Benfica, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal, Apoel Nicosia or Barcelona will be Napoli’s next test in the competition.
Milan, meanwhile, will have to dispose of Bayern Munich, Benfica, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal or Apoel Nicosia.
