Massimo Ambrosini believes one of the reasons Max Allegri has enjoyed such success at Milan is because he is a little like Carlo Ancelotti and Fabio Capello.
Milan currently have a six-point cushion at the top of Serie A and will be League leaders at Christmas even if they lose against Roma in their last game before the winter break.
Interviewed in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ambrosini said: "Max is a mix of one person and another. He is less rigid than Capello and knows how to joke like Carlo but when he needs to make himself heard he is like Fabio."
Looking ahead to Milan's clash with Roma, he said: "It would be a little step towards the Scudetto and would allow us to distance ourselves from a direct competitor, but these games aren't be decisive.
"I won a League making up seven points in seven games on Lazio in 1999, so…"
Asked to reveal who he believes are Milan's most dangerous title rivals, he said: "Juve because they aren't in Europe and can bother us. They have a Coach who has the desire and the right mentality. But Inter will also figure in the title race again."
Finally, Ambrosini gave an insight into where his future lies.
The veteran midfielder's contract expires in 2011 and it remains to be seen whether he'll spend a 16th year in red and black.
"It would be difficult for me to wear another shirt in Italy. But I have no intention of stopping, so if I weren't to find an agreement with Milan, I would go abroad."
