Serse Cosmi insists today’s relegation dogfight with Parma is not “the last chance saloon” for Lecce.
He made his debut on the bench with a strong performance, but an unlucky 3-2 home defeat to Lazio.
“In my view, it is not right to say this is our last chance saloon. We’re certainly in a difficult situation in which we need to pick up points, regardless of the opposition we are facing,” said the Coach.
“Parma are a side who have done very well on home turf and will want to prove they are strong even without Sebastian Giovinco. I’m sure they expect to beat us, being bottom of the table, but it depends on us.
“I am counting on the midfielders pushing up, because our squad does not really include strikers who can net in double figures over a season. This is why we fill the gap with people like Guillermo Giacomazzi, Ruben Olivera and Ignacio Piatti.”
