Forgotten Fiorentina midfielder Marco Marchionni will not consider a move to Serie B in January.
The 31-year-old is expected to leave Tuscany next month after not playing a single minute for the Viola this term.
A variety of Second Division outfits have been paired with him, but his agent has made it clear that the former Italian international won’t consider a step down.
“You can forget about Marchionni in Serie B,” Bruno Carpeggiani has underlined. “We’ll discuss and evaluate a possible transfer over the next few days.”
The former Parma and Empoli player moved to the Stadio Artemio Franchi in the summer of 2009 from Juventus.
Genoa have been linked with his services in Serie A.
