Italian World Cup winner Alberto Gilardino has successfully completed his medical ahead of his move to Genoa.
The striker, 29, was in the port city this morning to undergo a number of medical checks before he can put pen to paper on a deal with the Rossoblu.
Genoa made it clear last month that they would look to bring in a new centre-forward during the January transfer window.
Despite initially making a move for Juventus’ Amauri, they eventually turned to Fiorentina and Gilardino.
Genoa made an unsuccessful bid to sign the former Parma and Milan man in the summer after no deal could be agreed with the Viola.
