Davide Santon has suggested that Mario Balotelli remains unsettled in England and hinted that his future in the Premier League is still in the balance.
Santon, also now plying his trade in England following a summer switch to Newcastle United, was a teammate and close friend of Balotelli’s during their emergence together at Inter some three years ago.
In spite of Balotelli enjoying career-best form at Manchester City, 21-year-old full-back Santon has cast doubt over the forward’s commitment to the team currently managed by Roberto Mancini.
“We often speak and sometimes we meet up,” reflected Santon to Sky Sport Italia. “He doesn’t have a proper smoking habit, he is just a quiet boy who wants to have fun.
“I do not know what he wants to do in the future because sometimes he says he wants to return to Italy and sometimes he says he wants to stay a long time with City.”
