Siena Vice-President Valentina Mezzaroma has warned of Lazio’s strength on the road this season, whilst revealing her personal motivations for a Week 17 win.
Not only is she and brother, club President Massimo Mezzaroma, cousins to Lazio President Claudio Lotito’s wife, Valentina is also known to support Roma. As the Robur welcome the Aquile to Tuscany for Saturday evening’s match, the 35-year-old reflected on the occasion to Radio Mana Mana.
“For me it is a derby of the heart but also a difficult game because Lazio play much better away from home, we hope that this tradition is not continued.
“Our goal is to achieve survival and we must return to picking up points. This season we started very well, then we perhaps were a little over-confident, now we need to return to doing well.
“I really hope that Siena win [this weekend], obviously because I am a Roma supporter. We arrive in this game with some [injury] problems. Let’s see what happens, there is no denying that Lazio will be strong.”
