Sebastien Frey is convinced that Alberto Gilardino will re-find his goal touch following his move to Genoa.
The Italian international has completed his switch to Marassi this month where he will team up with Frey, his former teammate at Fiorentina.
“Welcome brother,” the custodian commented. “You’ll do well as I have seen how motivated you are.
“I’m sure that you’ll soon find your old self again and that you will score an avalanche of goals,” the Frenchman added.
“I’m happy for him and for Genoa. The arrival of Gilardino has fired us up and has brought new enthusiasm to the team.”
Gilardino was targeted by the Rossoblu before the start of this season, but no agreement could be reached with the Viola.
The 2006 World Cup winner has had a frustrating campaign so far, scoring just twice in 12 League games.
