Attilio Tesser launches Andrea Caracciolo in the starting XI as Novara welcome troubled Fiorentina. “We’ve got to stop them pinning us back.”
The minnows have been boosted by the arrival of Caracciolo from Genoa during the transfer window. Curiously, the only reason Caracciolo was released was because the Viola sold Alberto Gilardino to the Grifone.
“Caracciolo is in good shape and will be in the starting XI,” confirmed the Coach. “Andrea has great experience and quality, so he can create chances on his own. He always scored in every division and we hope he can continue doing that with us.
“Fiorentina are a very technical side with great quality, above all in the middle of the park. They do not allow reference points in attack, especially without Gilardino, so we’ve got to stop them pinning us back.”
Caracciolo isn’t the only January reinforcement for Novara, as they are also waiting for the transfer to come through from Werder Bremen for 32-year-old midfielder Daniel Jensen.
“He is in good shape and has been training here for a few days, settling in well. He too has a lot of experience and we are counting on his support.”
