Inter will reportedly wait until after the Milan derby on Sunday before deciding whether to make Manchester City an offer for Carlos Tevez.
The Argentine is now available to the Nerazzurri after city rivals Milan saw their hopes of signing him disappear on Thursday.
Milan were in pole position to net the striker. They had already agreed personal terms and were set to finance the transfer by selling Alexandre Pato to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Pato snubbed a January switch to the French capital and Milan now don’t have the cash to tempt City into a sale.
Yesterday’s twist will allow Inter the opportunity to make a formal offer and they have already been in touch with City over the last few weeks.
Inter, should they make a concrete bid for the South American, could offer the Premiership club €25m plus a further €2m if certain bonus conditions are met.
The only other candidate at this stage to sign Tevez – who hasn’t played for City since September – are Paris SG.
