Alessio Cerci is on the verge of leaving Fiorentina for Genoa, reports in Italy are suggesting.
The former Roma youth team product is expected to quit the struggling Viola this month and the Grifone are very keen.
The wide attacker was a revelation at the Stadio Franchi last season, so much so that Manchester City made a bid for him in the summer.
Fiorentina, however, rejected the English club’s offer and he remained in Tuscany. However, he’s had his problems this term and the club are now ready to sell.
Despite interest from Everton and Palermo in the 24-year-old, it is understood that Genoa are in pole position to net him.
The Rossoblu have been busy this month after netting Davide Biondini from Cagliari and Alberto Gilardino from Fiorentina.
