Ex-Fiorentina legend Roberto Baggio has urged fans to “give Delio Rossi the time to work” after furious protests.
The Viola ultras locked the squad in the dressing room after a 1-0 home defeat to Lecce and hurled abuse at the club owners.
“It is not up to me to judge Fiorentina’s situation, but people need to give Rossi the time to work,” said Baggio while visiting the Coverciano ground in Florence.
The Divine Ponytail also watched the team’s training session today and will do the same tomorrow.
Baggio wore the Fiorentina jersey from 1985 to 1990, when his sale to Juventus prompted rioting in the streets.
Rossi took over mid-season when Sinisa Mihajlovic was sacked and initially was greeted by a hugely enthusiastic response, but is now suffering after poor results.
