Miralem Pjanic admits that Roma’s game-plan was scuppered by conceding early against Juventus in the Italian Cup.
The Giallorossi were knocked out of the Coppa on Tuesday after the Old Lady collected a 3-0 triumph in Turin.
“We should have and could have done more,” the summer signing from Lyon told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “Unfortunately the game instantly became more difficult after they scored.”
Emanuele Giaccherini gave the home side the lead, before Alex Del Piero and a late own goal sealed a comprehensive win.
“We conceded two goals on the break and we were never able to impose our own style of play. We tried to change the game in the second half, but we woke up too late.
“We are not satisfied with what we did, but there is no need to make a drama out of it. Let’s forget about Juventus and concentrate on the championship now.”
