Serse Cosmi and his revived Lecce are certainly not frightened at welcoming Inter. “We have reason to be optimistic.”
The Salentini are the only Serie A side still without a home win this season, having managed only two draws and seven defeats.
They were beaten 4-1 at San Siro when meeting in December, but had taken the lead through Luis Muriel.
“It may seem banal, but we have to make as few mistakes as possible, both when defending and attacking,” said Cosmi.
“We have to play with great concentration and focus, as a single error can cost you a heavy price.
“It would be a mistake for us to think back to the last time we played Inter and only remember the fact Inter hit the woodwork three times in 10 minutes. Instead, if we remember the chances we had in the second half, then we have reason to be optimistic. Lecce are not beaten before the game even begins.”
Cosmi hinted that new signings Manuele Blasi, Martin Miglionico and Haris Seferovic could make their Lecce debuts.
Cristian Pasquato will not be taking part, as this morning he officially terminated his contract with Lecce. The Juventus-owned forward is expected to join Torino.
