Just as the transfer window closes, Cesena land Mario Santana and ship Antonio Candreva off to Lazio.
The struggling Serie A side, who are currently four points adrift of 17th place in the table, are understood to have agreed a deal to bring Santana in on loan from the Naples side, who they play in the League on Wednesday.
Originally attempting to capture the Argentine midfielder on a free transfer in the summer upon his release from Fiorentina, the Cavallucci Marini were thought to have again lost out on the 30-year-old this transfer window after Candreva rejected a loan swap in the other direction.
Santana, however, has now reportedly put pen to paper on an agreement to join the Emilia-Romagna outfit on loan for the rest of the season, as Candreva finds another destination.
The former Parma midfielder is understood to have beaten the 6pm UK time deadline today to complete a move to Lazio, in a swap deal with Le Aquile's Simone Del Nero.
