Estudiantes have confirmed that Napoli have agreed a fee to sign highly-rated young centre-back Federico Fernandez.
The 21-year-old will arrive in June for a fee of €3m and becomes Napoli's first signing in anticipation of next season.
Both parties had agreed terms last week, but a hurdle had to be crossed with regard to the player's image rights.
Napoli will pay for Fernandez's transfer in three installments, the first in January, the second in June and the third in 2011.
"I am very happy that everything has gone well," Fernandez said. "Italy is the ideal country for us Argentines.
"Napoli was Maradona's team. The presence of Ezequiel Lavezzi and Jose Sosa influenced my decision a lot.
"Sosa has spoken very well of the city and the fans. We even traveled together on the plane. There was also Edi Cavani and Walter Gargano.
"The Napoli fans are very similar to the Argentine ones and this fascinates me," he concluded.
