Nicolas Burdisso’s recovery from knee surgery is reportedly not going well, prompting fears that he could soon return under the knife.
The Argentine centre-back ruptured the ligaments in his left knee whilst on international duty in a mid-November match against Colombia.
Undergoing surgery soon after, the 30-year-old former Inter stopper was initially ruled out for at least six months. Yet, two-and-a-half months on from the procedure, the defender is reportedly still having trouble bending the affected leg.
It is thought that should the problem persist, Burdisso will have to undergo a second surgical procedure to clean out the joint. This would almost certainly guarantee an increase to his recovery period.
