Giuseppe Sannino admits it “will be difficult” going into the second leg with Napoli, “but just playing a Coppa Italia semi-final is reason to be proud.”
Siena had never progressed this far in the competition before, but won the first leg 2-1 this evening and have regrets at scoring a late own goal.
“I was angry with my players because they could’ve put the ball out of play before Napoli’s goal and ended it there rather than argue with the referee,” said Coach Sannino.
“We played a great game and Napoli’s goal came because if they put their entire battery of strikers up against you, it’s stunning.
“Napoli are a very strong team with an excellent Coach and play good football. It’ll be difficult for the second leg seeing as we conceded that away goal, but just playing a Coppa Italia semi-final in Naples is reason to be proud.”
