Claudio Ranieri will be given a few more chances, as Inter are not convinced by the option of Luis Figo and Beppe Baresi as caretaker managers.
The Coach was put on the chopping block after losing four of the last five Serie A games, including home defeats to Novara and Bologna .
There was a crisis meeting today at the Pinetina training ground between technical director Marco Branca, sporting director Piero Ausilio and director Stefano Filucchi.
It’s reported by Sky Sport Italia that they will continue to keep their faith in Ranieri at least for the next week.
This is primarily because on Tuesday Inter have a Champions League trip to Olympique Marseille, then face Napoli in a Serie A showdown for European places.
A change of management now would be very risky indeed, especially as President Massimo Moratti and his staff are said to be unconvinced by the option of Figo and current assistant manager Baresi as caretakers.
Ranieri is already Inter’s fourth Coach in the last 14 months, as Rafa Benitez quit in December 2010, Leonardo resigned in the summer of 2011 and Gian Piero Gasperini was sacked in September.
