Stefano Pioli is keen for his Bologna players to follow up their win over Inter with an equally decisive performance at home to Fiorentina tomorrow.
The Felsinei welcome Delio Rossi’s Viola to the Renato Dall’Ara to play the rearranged fixture from Week 21. The original game was called off at the start of the month due to the heavy snowfall that hit the Emilia-Romagna region.
Bologna go into the fixture still unbeaten in 2012 and off the back of a weekend shock win away to Inter. Currently still four points above the relegation zone after Lecce’s win in Week 24, Pioli is aware that most important for his team is to continue their upward momentum.
“Against Inter, Bologna played a great game to win three important points for our League position, but there is still more running and fighting to do, starting tomorrow night against Fiorentina in the field.
“They are a challenging opponent and we need all our energy,” Pioli reflected.
“In the fight for survival, three points against Inter were important, but even more will the points be against La Viola, if we are careful and determined.
“There is great balance in games, they can be decided by individual errors and we cannot afford to drop our performance, concentration or self-sacrifice.
“Tomorrow I expect a performance from the team that is courageous but also determined, as only a positive result will give more meaning to the win at Inter.
“Tomorrow we face Fiorentina, then Udinese, then Novara and Juventus without a break, in the League we are always required to give maximum effort.”
