Fabiano Santacroce will consider a January switch if high-flying Napoli show no objection to selling him.
The former Under-21 international has been linked with New Year moves to clubs such as Fiorentina and Juventus.
However, Andrea D'Amico, his agent, has insisted that it all depends on what the Azzurri have in mind for the future.
"A lot of clubs like Santacroce, but we will evaluate everything alongside Napoli," the representative said.
"The player's objective is to play with more continuity and when he does feature he is often one of the best players on the pitch.
"If there are not the conditions in place to remain in Naples then we will evaluate the alternatives that are on offer.
"However, it's up to Napoli, who we are on good terms with, who first must decide on what squad they want to end the season with."
Santacroce is a central defender who could be of use to numerous clubs up and down the peninsula.
